Hi Ivan now i got the whole pic , put the samba server ip address as static
entry in wins server .

even if your wins address in the the smb.conf is wrong ,name resolution will
be smooth .

Restart (restart ,reformat&retire the m/c is not the thing  that solves the
root cause)is not a solution to the above problem .
when you restart the nt m/c it will get into network and get new browse list
form pdc ,but iam sure you are going to face this problem again

wins static entry is the right solution.

if you want simulate the same change the wins server to some ip address within
your n/w
do ipconfig /renew
later try to browse through the network neighborhood from different pc or from
cmd line net view \\<NTm/c>
try this and tell me the result.
