go to main menu ( by clicking on the "foot"
button)->Settings->Menu Editor and play around

You may also want to try the Gnome help (try it!, it
really helps unlike windoz) e.g. For your particular
query i referred to 
file:/usr/share/gnome/help/users-guide/C/mainmenu.html
