I recently got an Inspiron 4000 and am running Red Hat Linux 7.0 on it
without any troubles whatsoever. The internal ethernet is supported by
the standard 3c59x driver and PCMCIA has no problems either. So in a
nutshell, you shouldn't have any problems.
Also, just for info on the rest of the devices of the machine. The
video chipset is supported in XFree 4.0.1 as shipped in Red Hat 7.0 but
probably not in the 3.3.6 shipped with Red Hat 6.2. The sound chip
works with a driver from http://www.zabbo.net/maestro3/ (still beta but
it works for me and a lot of other people :)
Cheers,
Jeremy
