just edit the /etc/lilo.conf and put a lines
password=xxxxx
restricted
somewhere between the image and label tags in your section for the linux
kernel and execute the command
#lilo -v
the nexttime you give a param to lilo it will ask for the password U entered
in lilo.conf.An alternative is to use the linuxconf lilo section and give a
passowrd and check restricted.
