Like a directory structure in dos / windows (the sort you see in windows
explorer).  Mount is to make a filesystem accessible (locally or remotely) -
like when you access a share in NT (sort of)
 
Tell you what - just get yourself something like Unix for Dummies or RH Linux
unleashed and give it a good read first.  It will definitely help far more than
just reading manpages ;)
