I'm having RH 6.2 and have installed sendmail 8.11.0. I've seen
that for local mail delivery sendmail doesn't uses SMTP, but for
outgoing mails it does. I've a script written in PHP which uses the
inbuilt mail() function of PHP, I want to tell sendmail to use SMTP
always for all mails irrespective of local or outgoing. How to do that ?
I've seen "pine" uses some feature with which all mails are being
redirected to SMTP. How it does ? Can I configure sendmail in such a way
that it does the same ? Please help !!! I need this b'coz I'm using
Perl Sendmail Milter script which waits for mails at SMTP port. Since
"pine" uses SMTP for all mail delivery , my script works perfectly for
pine. But when I'm usinf PHP's mail() function to send mail, for
outgoing mails my script works but for local delivery it doesnot
respond.
