Neeraj:

The command mailq shows a list on the mail queue with a unique ID preceding 
each item.  This ID has an asterisk next to it while it is being processed.

As I am not too sure about this, i would appreciate confirmation from 
others.

Is there some general way in Linux /unix mailing system
(Sendmail/Exim/Netscape) where one can see at to which mail is being
processed/ being delivered  at a particular point of time ?
