I have successfully implemented Linux terminal server from the cooked up
packages got from www.ltsp.org and netboot package. Now I am in the process
of trying the same stunt, but want the client (diskless) to receive windows
95/98 os and boot up. I tried dos tcp from trumpet, and odi drivers from
novell (my net card is ne2000), but could not find a compatiable workgroup
client which could mount smb share, which including the startup files fits on
to a single disk. Then I tried the microsoft workgroup connectivity for dos,
ver 3.1, which i got as MCSE benefits. This uses the NetBEUI protocol and
currently I have no implementation of this peer protocol on my linux box.
In google search, i found a site which claims to have released the port of
NetBEUI protocol stack to linux in feb 2000, but could not find a download
on their site. Currently i have downloaded the PC-NFS and is going to check
it out.

But there again, the netboot package, which I downloaded compiled, with an
error in the mknbi-mgl part, but when configured with option disable-mknbi-mgl,
it completes good. Then I tried the mknbi-dos on a bootable floppy, which it
promptly said, a boot image was created. This image I added to the
/tftpboot/lts folder as client1-dos and made the necessary changes in bootptab
and dhcpd.conf, restarted the services and tried the network boot process.
The boot image is downloaded and the initial message is shown but system is not
booting up.

if any one out there know a working config, for diskless booting into
window95/98 for multiple diskless clients, then point me in the right
direction, such that I can complete the task and submit a report soon.

I prefer working with RH 6.2, but can switch to any distro if it satisfies my
requirements.
