Hi all

hope u got my previous posting related to this,

I have gone a bit too far, after I got the Microsoft implementation of
lanmanager for dos, which uses tcp/ip and has inbuilt drivers for almost all
(ms accepted) network interfaces. This I installed along with boot disk, but
could not fit onto one floppy, so installed into c drive with boot device as a:
and in my RH server, I created a 2.88 mb floppy dummy file, formated this with
a pre cooked bootsector using mformat. Then loop mounted it and copied all
required files into this. then I used the etherboot package from
www.slug.org.au/etherboot to create the netboot image for dos. checked this
with a diskless client. well i had to do quite a lot of tunning before i got a
working copy. I had to edit the system.ini file in several places to tune up
lanmanager such that it automatically maps network shares provided by samba.
other wise the 'net.exe' was asking username, password prompts, which I did not
require. this was circumvented by editing 'lmlogon=0' and putting 'lmlogon=2'
which was just a trial from my part.

tomorrow or day after i am trying with a skeleton installation of windows 95
and if it succeeds, I will be going in for a windows 98 netboot.

will keep u all posted
finally when i think it is all ready, i will streamline and post the whole
information to my tech support site.
