hi guys,
Any body uses the XFree86 4.0.1 X server on a
sis6215 or 6326 card.I some
how configured the new format XF86Config file and used
the sis driver with
chipset as sis530(not documented but works).The Driver
docs say it supports
SIS86C215(6215) but the XFree86 program gives and
error that 86c215 is not
supported.But making the chipset as SIS530 starts the
X server with
acceleration,glx and dri,cinerama support etc.But
after five to 10 minutes
the display becomes blank.I could find that the X
programs are
running.Blindfolded I opened a terminal and played a
wav file using the play
command and I could shift VTs and login to vt01.But do
what ever the display
is blank and the monitor light becomes orange(no
signal).I even tried
disabling acceleration,GLX,DRI,Xkeyboard supports one
by one.but still the
display vanishes in five to ten minutes.I tried this
config the same machine
under
solaris 8 with XFree84 4.0.1 for solaris.and I dont
have this problem.
But The same problem occurs when I tried on another
machine running RH7 with
the sis6326 card.Anybody else had faced this prob?Is
there a fix for this.any
bug fix releases?
