for scsi disks naming convention is sdx as far as I know

i have connected an external scsi cd-writer to it. i do not know the naming
convention as how to indentify it. like hdx for hard disks.
i tried going throught the SCSI-HOWTO, but no use.
i am using Debian GNU/Linux 2.2.
