Hello:

You dont need the tarball to compile RPM. Get the RPM source rpm down and use
'rpm --rebuild' on it.

1. Get the rpm-<version>.src.rpm. (rpm-4.0-4 is the version i have on my
box)
2. Run 'rpm --rebuild rpm-<version>.src.rpm'
3. Run 'rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/rpm-*.rpm'
4. Run 'rpm --rebuilddb' # To rebuild the database

U should be able to find it on http://rpmfind.net
