Hi

 This is very naive thought but may work.  In short sniff the output of
mpeg player.

A rough description....

Create a new audio device which is actually a named pipe. Whatever comes
in pipe, dump it in a file and also write to actual audio hardware. So
it will be played as well as recorded....

It may work, perhaps.....
