xntp is a daemon based service. You just need to install it and run the
ntp server. Ofcourse you need to tell which server to coordinate the
time too but definitely no cron-job is needed for this.
If possible go for ntp 4.0 - unfortunately all the packages are
available in rpm 4.0 so you might have to do a rpm upgrade too.
