Hi!
The chipaway-whatever you saw while installing was your bios protection of
boot sector in action. Lilo tries to install in the boot sector, and
that's why you got that prompt. Nowadays, with boot sector viruses being
less at large (exception being Wyx), you can moreorless turn off the virus
protection setting in the bios setup.

If you have a boot disk ready, boot your computer from it and run LILO
again to install it into the MBR, even if ChipAway warning appears allow
the writing to take place.
