Hello:

Adaptec Direct CD (part of Easy CD Creator suite) is a packet writing
tool and will not create ISO images. A CD created with Direct CD can be
read using the Linux UDF driver now a standard part of the 2.4 kernel
series. Packet writing however is experimental.

The original poster must have used Easy CD Creator application to
create an ISO image w/o Rock-ridge/Joliet extension. I can assure you
that images mastered using the Adaptec Easy CD Creator tool will work
correctly in Linux.

For those interested in packet writing See:

1) /usr/src/linux-2.4.0/Documentation/filesystems/udf.txt
2) http://linux-udf.sourceforge.net
