Try not moving auto.master and auto.misc. Instead, add a line to
/etc/auto.master that looks like:
+auto.master
This basically lets /etc/rc.d/init.d/autofs know that in addition to the
maps already listed in /etc/auto.master, the auto.master in NIS also needs
to be referred to.
