If you booted thru floppy disc, then the floppy is damaged. Please make a
boot disk, by using rawwrite ( comes as a dos utility on your RH cd) use
any image file suitable for you, I think boot.img. Now you may boot using
floppy, at the boot: type linux root=/dev/hd?? (where ?? represents your
hdd a,b , c or d with 1 or.... depending on your linux partition )
Get into linux and type lilo -v as root
That should do
