Hi Duke,

the floppy problem:
        try using 
        mount -t msdos /dev/fd0
this sets the filesystem type to MSDos, and hopefully, the error should not
come..

the samba config:
        1.) do not check 'Use BOOTP/DHCP etc.'(no cross)
        2.) IP address: 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
        where xxx can be 1-254
        typically 192.67.2.2
        and 192.67.2.3 for both your computers
        3.)default gateway: blank
        4.)Netmask: 255.255.255.0
        5.)primary name server: (mostly blank)

me thinks this should work, any other suggestions..
