Abhay, I would suggest you move to Red Hat Linux 7.0 as the distribution
has the XFree86 version 4 which supports i810 chipset.

If you plan to continue with 6.2, do check out the following sites:
http://www.exocore.com/linux/i810
http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel810/linuxsoftware.htm
and follow the steps given there.

Als download the Linux Graphics Release Notes for Intel 810 and Intel
815 chipset families from the Intel Web Site. Its a 9 page pdf document
and if you aren't able to locate it, let me know I will email it to you.
There's a 810 HowTo at http://www.linuxdoc.org/ also - I don't recall
which version / release its meant for.

Under RHL 7.0, use xf86config to configure X Windows and make sure that
you select only one resolution (say 800 X 600) and 4096 K as the video
RAM. If you select multiple resolutions, it may cause some problems.

There are some limitations with i810 chipset.

1. You would not be able to run more than one X session.
2. You may not be able to switch to the console mode from X Windows
session using Ctrl+Alt+Fn

For sound use the Alsa Drivers for i810. Download them from
http://www.alsa-project.org/
