I just used NFS for the first time and I am worried about few things.
I have exported an NFS share from an HP machine. My user id there is 200. On
my linux machine my id is 500.
When I write some files to that dir. from linux, they are marked as user 500.
Now that's unacceptable to me and not very good either. If I am logging as HP
user shridhar, all files should be owned by HP user shridhar, not linux user
shridhar.
BTW do I need to specify password? For me
#mount -t nfs hpmachine:dir /nfs/hpmachine
worked fine.
Now that's bit unwarranted.
