Ack, most common misconception of network security: Firewalls Fix
Everything.

A firewall is only as secure as the hosts it's running on, the
services it's running and the competence it's configured with.  Just
``putting a firewall'' is likely to make you complacent about your
security, and could quite possibly be /more insecure/ than not having
one in the long term.
