Yeah ! i work with Xnest yes there are some setings to be done on server side 
as well like the font server path in XF86Config  and xaccess in 
/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess 
just uncommet  the line 

# *                       # any host can get the login window 


ALSO make sure u make a entry in hosts file for the client
