Have still not figured out the MASQ message problem but that name server
problem has been solved. Actually it was not a name server problem at all.

I was not able to ping to the machine itself, people from outside were
able to ping the machine well and access the net etc.

I checked the routing and there was no lo interface in that. restarted the
network and the lo interface did not come back. So it was the loopback
interface.

Finally found out that the details for the lo interface were
missing. Some kind soul said it looked like an unusual ip so removed
it. :-)

So I put the details, routing tables are back on, machine can ping
itself, name server is accessible, sendmail is able to take in mail again. :-))
