I wanted to install kde1-compat-* libs for working with programs like
zzplayer which works only with kde1. I downloaded files
kde1-compat-1.1.2-7 and its develop libs and tried to install the RPMs.
I got the following msgs.
error: failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by kde1-compat-1.1.2-7
I have the following libs glibc
[root@lvghomepc] /home/lvgandhi# rpm -qa | grep glibc
glibc-2.1.3-15
compat-glibc-5.2-2.0.7.2
glibc-devel-2.1.3-15
glibc-profile-2.1.3-15
How to find out which kde1-compat will not conflict with these libs
before downloading.
Further I downloaded gdm-2.0beta4-3
I have gdm-2.0beta2-26. When I did rpm -Uvh I got the following msg.
[root@lvghomepc] /home/lvgandhi# rpm -Uvh gdm-2.0beta4-3.i386.rpm
file /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/Gnome from install of gdm-2.0beta4-3
conflicts with file from package gnome-core-1.0.55-12
How to know which gnome-core will be compatible and if so what are all
the files it needs along with it so that it will not conflict with kde2.
