No Raghu. My problem was not respawing but killing mgetty. Now I am doing
killall mgetty in the script in which I am dialing out. Similarly I have not
put mgetty respawning in inittab, but I am starting it from the startup script
and then again from the dial-out script after sending and receiving mail part is
over.
