[LIH] linux doesnt boot!

I installed RH linux 6.2 from pcq cd last week. The installation went well 
and the system booted in linux afterwards. I ran pcqupdt script and then 
rebooted the machine. Now the system hangs at the step "configuring kernel 
parameters". I tried installing again and got the same results. Any reasons 
as to why this would happen?
