[LIH] installing php-postgresql

Hi ,
        I upgraded my rpm to version 4.0,now i wanted to install php-4.0.4,I
downloaded the packages and dependencies(gd and glibc).Can anyone tell me how
to install glibc without affecting my other appli. because rpm -U doesn't
work.I even tried to force it but in vain.
