Disclaimer - I dont know qmail too much - but this is not qmail
specific. Most MTAs have a file (sendmail.cw / local-host-names in
sendmail, local.domains in exim etc) which tells them which domains are
local to the server. Add your local domain to the relevant file on qmail.
External mail is sent to whatever smarthost you have defined. DJB has a
quite good faq for qmail I expect ... cr.yp.to should have some pointers
to this
