hello sunil / all.

sorry to bother u but i had something to ask.

i had last time mention that during linux installation, it mentions that
the hard disk has it's "partition corrupt." then it just does not read
the hard disk and aborts the installation. i have tried redhat linux 7,
the problems remain the same.

i am using 20 gb seagate harddisk. with a partition fat16 c: 2GB,
extended partition of 12GB (logical partition 6GB & 6GB). and the
balance (UNPARTITIONED) 5.5GB i have kept for linux.

i want to load linux in an unpartitioned space after my extended
partition.

some more tips, i started fips. the FIPS show it as partition error. the
no of cylinder in the "ending" which was 1023, FIPS rectifies it as
1790. i did not change it. Windows does not show it as error. but i am
scared to change it.

my question to all, do u think it is an error. also how to rectify it?
can i install linux in an unpartition space after extended partition?
should i go ahead and rectity the partition manually. or will it cause a
disaster.

i have win2k loaded along with win95 osr2 version.

thanks in advance

sumeet
