That, or as a shortcut use hosts.allow to specify that your ip range is
allowed to use certain services (telnet, pop3 etc - an ALL entry wont be too
bad if you use RFC 1918 addresses - 10./8, 192.168./16 and 172.16./12 on
your lan).
Setting up DNS and rDNS is a very nice thing but configuring lots of 'doze
clients to use your dns server (changing the settings in network
neighborhood and rebooting) is a royal pain in the a**
