Hi Trevor -

3com and Intel etherexpress pro (eepro) cards work just great under all
linux 2.2.x (and 2.4.x) kernels.

As for realtek / dlink / via-rhine / rtl8139, this is a known issue with the
card (extremely bad design, plus the fact that most of the cards using this
are the generic unbranded variety (they may call themselves dlink though ...
and implementation is badly screwed up in most such cards).

As a matter of fact, someone (on another list) mailed me saying that there's
a 2.2.19 kernel coming up, which has fixed this problem to some extent.
Might be worth a try.
