Hi, any pointers on how one can go about calculating the hop distance between 2 IP addresses. The value need not be exact if I can get it fast enough. I dont want to go the traceroute way as it is fairly expensive. The kind of application I have in mind is suppose the base ftp server points me to the mirror the least hop distance away from the connecting client.
