[Moving to LIH] fileof forced the electrons to say: > Hey guys, > Did anyone install 2 same or different Linux distros in one system, making > it a multi boot system..?? Hi, I am all with you. I also intend to do that - I currently have RHL 6.2 running on a dual boot system with a partition table like this: /dev/hda1 on /dos type vfat (rw) /dev/hda3 on /boot type ext2 (rw) /dev/hda5 on / type ext2 (rw) /dev/hda6 on /home type ext2 (rw) /dev/hda7 on /usr/src type ext2 (rw) /dev/hda8 on /usr type ext2 (rw) (/dev/hda2 is swap, and /dev/hda4 is the extended partition). I intend to ditch the /dev/hda1 Windows partition and install Debian from the Network Computing CD. I guess it would be possible to use /boot the same on both (are there filename collisions in RHL and Debian in /boot?). / and /usr (as one partition, since I have already used up the extended on my disk) I want to accommodate on the current hda1. /home and /usr/src (and the swap space) should be common. Any suggestions/pointers? Just start the install process and select hda1 as the installation disk? Any possible pitfalls?
