For XFree4, please do 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86' after U
install all needed X packages via 'dpkg / apt-get'.

<SNIP>
NAME
       dpkg-reconfigure - reconfigure an already installed pack-
       age

SYNOPSIS
        dpkg-reconfigure [--frontend=type] [--priority=value] packages

DESCRIPTION
       dpkg-reconfigure reconfigures packages after they have
       already been installed. Pass it the names of a package or
       packages to reconfigure.

       This has the same effect as re-installing the package,
       basically. I hope one day this will be called by dpkg
       --reconfigure

This will ask you some question like (similar to XF86Setup) and there will
be your file in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

I am sending u my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 by a separate mail.

Hope this helps.

Regards
