hi,
     i was using Debian GNU/Linux potato .
i did a apt-get dist-upgrade to the unstable tree of http.us.debian.org.

then when i tried compiling the kernel 2.4.2. but it stopped because of the following
error.
i have a feeling it is due to the upgradation since before the upgradation i had
compiled the kernel once and there were no problems.

can some tell me how to get out of this mess.
harsha

Q: Why haven't you graduated yet?
A: Well, Dad, I could have finished years ago, but I wanted
    my dissertation to rhyme.
