Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Depends: xlib6g-dev but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgtk1.2-dev but it is not going to be installed

libgnome-dev package ??? Is there any way I can install libgnome-dev ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------
debian:~# dpkg -l | grep libgnome32

If I try to isntall xlib6g-dev which is needed by libgnome-dev I get an
error similar to rpm. Dependencies not satisfied. apt-get was supposed to
install all the dependent packages along with the main package but I got
some packages which are broken in this respect. One of them is just down.

Any help in this regard will be of great use to me, otherwise I will have
to compile icewm on Mandrake :-)
