i am not a techy in linux and i already installed debian- kern-2.2.14 , i have a pci
internal D-Link (motorola sm56 chipset) (model- DFM-560IS+) but i can't cofigure in
linux ,how can i get the driver for this, i came to know that it currently under
development from the motorola's web site, could i configure it with a generice
internal PCI 56k modem driver ,which is the link (or site) to get this if any . i
have been using only shell utilities only (not X) .

'wvdial' utility will shows that the modem is not responding,i think it is due to the
lack of the modem driver. if the above modem should't support the linux,please prefer
one internal modem(both brand&chipset) that should supported by linux and available in
indian market. i don't have a guru for linux so i expect more from u.
