I am using suse 7. I have connected modem and was working fine. When I got
suse 7.1 I used the cd to upgrade the os. After that my modem was not
behaving properly. I looked in to inittab and found that there was some
changes. There was another file called inittab.rpmupgrade. I though that
my upgrade might have created that backup., I renamed that to inittab and
re booted. My problem started. Booting never completes and complaints as
follows
yS1 can't create pid file /var/run/mg-pid.ttyS1 : Read-only file system
yS1 can't chmod() pid file : Read-only fo;e sussssste,
yS1 cannot create tempfile (var/lock/LCK..TM.s8....)
INIT: Id "s1" respawning too fast : disabled for 5 minutesfile or
directory
Now even as root I can't change inittab file.
Any solution?
