Well, there's one CD image that works. But it's a distro meant only to ast as
the gateway for your office. It's rather small - 50M footprint without the
cache. It has Squid, does NAT and also has a VPN server preconfigured. It
also acts as a dhcp server. It takes under 5 minutes to install :)
Though this works fine and is very small - just 17 running processes when
everything is up and running, it lacks flexiblity. So we're writing up a new
version that let's you do remote installs (a 2 stage installer) and has a
rather interesting package-management scheme. The package management is
almost done. It works a bit like 'stow'. Each package is installed in it's
own directory. The actual filesystem has symlinks pointing here. This keeps
the root filesystem clean. If you don't need a package - u could trivially
delete the package directory and the package manager will clean up the bad
symlinks for you. If you're interested I'll mail you the package-manager
sources. It's python :)
It'll actually be done completely in about a week's time (the
package-manager). The installer will take longer... :(
