Hi

If you are using 2.2 series kernels, then I guess it's 64K users+groups. In 2.4
kernels, the number is 4.2 billion.

Of course, system resource constraints apply. I won't expect 'ls -la' to take
less than 10 minutes if there 64K users on system and 10% of them logged in,
just doing 'ls -al' in their home directory on a desktop PC. Still I would say
it's great performance....

Hope I got you right...
