Although you can get by without a nameserver in most cases, when you send
mail, it may not work because the MTA might try looking up the mail server
(MX record) for the domain the mail is destined to. So it will fail. You
might be able to switch off this behavior on some mail servers, but I don't
know how. BTW, why are you so keen not to set up a nameserver ? It's a pretty
small job (esp. with djbdns). I guess by the time you get the docs to turn
off NS lookups for your mail server, you would be able to set up your
nameserver. :)
