[LIH] mount problem

i m unable to mount my windows partitions in RHL 6.2 kernel 2.4.1   mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /dosc gives /devhda1 wrong major or minor number   i have recompiled kernel with vfat support, but no use.   Ashish
