well, in fact, my server was working very fine for the last 6/7 months, and all of a sudden it just stops pinging or even browsing, while rest of my win clients still can browse or even ping thru the same system. I'm still quiet new to networking - what do you mean with net sharing? If you mean masquerading you should check the ipchains-filterrules. There should be a script called rc.firewall in the /etc/rc.d dir or somewhere there.
