Hi,
If I do apt-get upgrade I get the following :
debian:/etc/apt# apt-get upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following packages have been kept back
dnsutils kdebase-crypto kdelibs3-crypto pavuk python-pygresql sylpheed
task-dns-server
30 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 7 not upgraded.
Need to get 19.6MB of archives. After unpacking 2098kB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
If I say y here I get the following :
Get:1 http://http.us.debian.org stable/main elvis-tiny 1.4-11 [39.1kB]
Get:2 http://security.debian.org stable/updates/main gftp 2.0.6a-3.1
[313kB]
Get:3 http://http.us.debian.org stable/main make 3.79.1-1.potato.1 [388kB]
0% [3 make 26881/388kB 6%] [2 gftp 14148/313kB 4%]
1114B/s 4h51m47s
Here I pressed ctrl-c since I don't want to download 19MB stuff on dialup.
My question is. First when I do apt-get upgarde I don't get any package
list which is going to be upgraded, below after saying 'y' it starts gftp,
make etc. Why ?
Can I get only the list of packages which are going to be upgarded and then
I can selectively to apt-get install <packagename> ?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for this long mail.
Warm Regards
