There are a couple of articles on http://www.phpbuilder.com which explains
using PgSQL transactions with PHP

BUT newbies be warned unless you run your own webserver finding a web host
who runs the right combination of PgSQL + PHP (ideallyPHP should be
V4.0.5) can be tough.

See CHANGELOG at www.php.net as to why it is preferable to have V4.0.5
