Midi depends a lot on the wavetable it uses... most cards come with
cheapo wavtables.... midi on a SB Live is WOW!!!
I'm going out of town for the rest of the week... when I come back I'll
check out midi on my via686a and let you know.
I hope you have added the necessary OSS emulation lines for the via card.
