 Sendmail (at least) says you are out of luck with the standard sendmail
 package and asks you to try your luck with the Milter API (not my cup of tea
 at all ...)

 Ditto with most other _MTAs_ on this planet - there's the MIME handling to
 be considered, and which  can be easily broken if you tack a footer onto a
 message.  Proprietory groupware like Exchange and Notes can do this (but
 more in the nature of a central .sig)

 The best way using open source is to set up a webmail system which tacks on
 this stuff as a .sig _before_ it gets submitted to the mailserver.
