There are several options -
1. have a script in cron that does the following -
(a) Tars (only tar not gzip) the required files/directories.
(b) Mount a shared directory from the NT machine usingsamba.
(c) Then dump the tar file(s) there and unmount it.
2. Install Amanda and move the tape backup device onto Linux.
3. Use scp to transfer the files.
