Gaurav Priyolkar saw fit to inform me that:

On my debian box it works OK. When I press backspace the cursors moves
behind but does not delete the characters which it should have deleted.
I have to overwrite the characters which some other stuff or space :-)

Similarly, say in vi I want to insert a file. When I type

:r /ho

and then press tab vi was autocompleting /home etc similar to bash shell
but in debian pressing tab moves the cursor some spaces but /ho is not
autocompleted.

Listers any ideas why this kind of stuff changes from distro to distro :-)
Any thing to be changed to get the above features.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards
